Use abstract art as decorative items for the modern home | Interior Design Ideas - Ofdesign

As I walked around the expanses of the Fair of Masters, I realized that the one-of-a-kind and timely theme of modern interior painting design remained unlit.

Gone are the days when hanging paintings was done on the spur of the moment: as I like, so I will hang it. Even in their apartment, they follow the rules of hanging paintings: according to Feng shui, according to the exposition, and according to the style of the interior. Most importantly, in a modern interior design project, a "look wall" or decorative zone is often purposefully defined, where elements of interior decoration, appropriate lighting, picture holders, shelves, rods, and so on will be placed. In my publication, I'd like to briefly discuss the issues involved in planning a picture exhibition in the interior:

- Which paintings should I display in which rooms?

- the order in which they should be arranged;

- common exposure flaws in the home interior

So you've decided that you need to fill the empty walls in your house with paintings. Or have you been hoarding unformed, previously acquired paintings for a long time and need to hang them on the wall and.... It is necessary to create an exposition strategy.

  1. Where and what will be hung.

This is important. It is important to have only positive energy in the house in order to attract the right energy to your affairs and relationships.

Subjects for children include still lifes, do-it-yourself paintings, cartoon characters, fairy tales, children's films, and children's graphics. In general: bright, easy to design, and the ability to change the exposure over time is desirable. Here are some ideas:

Subjects for the living room include landscapes, portraits or photographs, still lifes, images of relaxation scenes, or something abstract. By color, the work either complements the color of the interior or enhances the sound of the primary color present in the visual area.

It is preferable to choose a meditative plot, such as flowers, or romantic content for the bedroom, but not one about loneliness. It is preferable to select such paintings with the help of her husband or...in general, a man.

  1. Design and placement

There are three options: baguette, passepartout, or, my favorite, no frame at all.

When there are up to two paintings on one wall, it is easier to make the frames and passepartout the same color, and to adhere to the principle of symmetry in the hanging.

When selecting a composition from a collection of paintings, the frame, if it is graphics or a painting on paper, can vary by two colors. The main problem is that there is no variety in the design. Remember that the painting is the focal point, and the frame is merely an embellishment.

Paintings do not need to be framed to be hung. This is especially true in the case of modern abstract painting. The side of the picture stretcher is painted in a neutral color, and there you have it! Modern, simple, and beautifully decorated!

There have already been numerous examples of successful image grouping in multi-part expositions. It is important to remember that the eye level is the location for paintings, as well as the center of the entire exhibition. The indentation from the adjacent frame should be at least 7 cm. When arranging paintings in a symmetrical arrangement, it is better to calculate: how, what, and where, by spreading out the exposition on the floor.

  1. Painting mistakes in the interior.

Unfortunately, I come across interiors where an interior decoration, such as a painting or graphic work, detracts from the overall look and perception of space:

the lack of a frame on a realistic painting or a homemade frame (you know, like: from candy boxes or some kind of wooden skirting board, plastic profile, and other handmade wonders); the picture is random in the interior: it does not match and does not fit into the decor area, either in size or color. She can hang alone on an empty wall, so small, or poisonously green with her landscape with a birch tree in the bright interior of a brownish office.

As an example:

The main principle is that the image should complement and enhance the human habitation zone. It should occupy nearly half of the empty wall to become a truly thoughtful part of the interior. The minimalist style is an exception.

A painting is a luxury item, something that is not a natural need, but always indicates the owner's level of taste, love of prosperity, affluence, cultural level, life values, style, and ability to invest money in art. Of course, thinking about the exposition of the hanging of works of fine art is necessary and even enjoyable, because it develops taste and makes it possible, over time, to easily change the interior of a different picture exhibition.

Thank you for taking the time to read my article. Best wishes to everyone in the creative industry!
